Over the course of her long career as a journalist and writer, she has penned many different thrillers, novels, and memoirs. Susie inspired many women, but sadly, she died on July 2, 2022.

Susie was born in London and grew up in a small town in the south of England. Her parents were both teachers, so she never wanted to be anything other than an author. From a very early age she would put pen to paper and write out stories about princesses and talking animals. It wasn’t until she studied English at university that her love of writing became more serious.

The book tells the story of DI Marnie Rome and DS Adrian Miles investigating the disappearance of teenager Alice Webster near Bristol in 2002.

After graduating from University with a degree in English Literature, Susie began working on local newspapers before finding a job at The Independent. Here she stayed for nearly fifteen years, covering high-profile cases such as Madeleine McCann’s disappearance and bringing attention to topics such as domestic violence.
